The Dr. Gene Burton College & Career Academy recently hosted its first Post-Secondary Panel Days, where 15 presenters from out-of-state universities, private and public universities, technical and community colleges, local employers and apprenticeship programs.
Many students remarked how they didn’t know the clubs they are in at the Academy would help them receive scholarships.
“This was really beneficial being able to ask specific questions about their programs,” said Alijiah Jenkins, a student at the Academy.
Over 1,000 students were able to attend throughout the two-day event. Students were given information and were able to have one-on-one conversations with the presenters.
