Christopher “Shane” Johnson, age 48, of Lakeway, TX, went into the arms
of Jesus on October 5, 2019. He was born August 17, 1971, in Garland,
TX. Shane was a radio disc jockey and TV personality in Dallas/Fort
Worth in the 1990s. He followed that with a decade in politics, serving
as the Mayor of Rowlett, Texas. He was at one time the youngest Mayor in
the State of Texas at the age of 28. Shane managed a successful career
in homebuilding for nearly two decades. Notwithstanding his professional
life, he often said his faith in God along with his wife and children
were his most proud milestones.
Shane is survived by his
devoted wife and best friend: Jenny Johnson; loving step-daughter
Shaylea Jane and amazing son Brannon Layne; parents: Neal and Christi
Johnson, and Bobby and Cindy Thompson; sister Jennifer Johnson;
brothers: Jonathan Johnson and wife Camille, and Noah Johnson; nieces:
Kylie and Kyndall; nephew: Trent; and many cousins. Shane was also
blessed with a large and caring family of in-laws in Ohio. He is
preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Carl and Natacha
Johnson: and maternal grandparents; Everett and Hazel Morgan.
A
celebration of Shane’s life will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, October 11,
2019, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location with
Pastor Gary Coleman officiating.
