Joyce Marie (Daniel) Hogue was born on April 15, 1934 and went to be with Jesus on September 14, 2019 at the age of 85. She was born in Heath, Texas and was a life-long resident of Heath and Rockwall, Texas. She was married to her late husband, Marvin for 65 years and was a mother to Melba, Norma, Carolyn, Joanna, and Brenda and mother-in-law to Abraham and Randy. She was a loving grandmother to Mandi and her husband Derek, Noah, Abigail, Nicole, and Ashley. She was a great-grandmother to Madison and Dylan. She is survived by her sister, Ruby Vicenti and brother, Glenn Daniel, as well as other family members and friends.
Joyce was very active in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She spent her time surrounded by children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at numerous family gatherings and celebrations. She enjoyed sewing and was a great seamstress. She also loved doing her “puzzles” from the newspaper each day and was an avid reader. Joyce also enjoyed daily visits with her sister, Ruby. During her lifetime, she was active in the former Rockwall First Assembly of God and taught children’s Sunday School and was part of the women’s ministry in past years. Although she was homebound during her later years, she enjoyed visiting with her loved ones.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 10:00am at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location with Pastor David Spiegel officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park. A Gathering for family and friends will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2019 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the funeral home.
