Glenda Fay Arnold, age 69, and lifetime resident of Royse City, TX, passed away on September 25, 2019. Mrs. Arnold was born April 17, 1950, in Greenville, TX, to Harmon Glenn Davis and Bonnie Faye (Mason) Davis. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce, where she went on to teach in the early childhood and special education department, then to become the elementary principal at Davis Elementary in Royse City, TX. Teaching was her passion, so after retiring as principal, she was hired as the special education diagnostician. Glenda loved people, she never met a stranger. She was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church of Royse City, TX, were she was very involved in multiple committees. Spending time with family and friends brought her joy. Glenda touched many lives and will be deeply missed by those that had the pleasure of knowing her.
Glenda is survived by her husband: David Arnold of Royse City, TX; daughter: Kerri McMahon and husband Tim of Wills Point, TX; son: Jack Carpenter and wife Keyna of Portland, OR; stepdaughter: Ashley Gray and husband Doug of Parker, CO; granddaughters: Madison (18), Hannah (12), Riley (11), and Andi Jane (10 months); grandsons: Cooper (14), Davis (6), and Max (4); brother: Richard Davis and wife Pam of Royse City; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother: Bonnie Davis; and father: Harmon Davis.
A celebration of Glenda’s life will be held 2:00pm Sunday, October 06, 2019, at Royse City High School – Fine Arts Auditorium- Royse City, TX, with Pastor Chris Everson officiating. A Gathering for family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at First United Methodist Church – Royse City, TX.
