Jerry L. Bishop, age 61, of Rockwall, TX, passed away on August 19, 2019. He was born February 6, 1958, in Longview, TX, to Emerson Edward Bishop and Gloria Criss (Janet) Bishop. Jerry was a long-time resident of the Rockwall area, over 35 years. He and his wife Erica attended Lake Pointe Church for over 17 years. They were the Saturday night Baptism Coaches for 15 of those years. Jerry was an avid golfer and UT football fan. He graduated from Arkansas Tech. Jerry loved his family dearly. He will be missed deeply by those who loved him.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife: Erica (Schreiber) Bishop of Rowlett, TX; parents: Ed and Gloria Bishop of Rowlett, TX; daughter: Courtney Bishop of Rowlett, TX; son: Blake Bishop of Midland, TX; brothers: Terry Bishop of Dallas, TX, and Robert Bishop of Wheaton, IL; and numerous friends and family members.
A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, August 24, 2019, at First United Methodist Church Rockwall, officiated by Pastor Sandy Heard.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
